Whole School Thinking Approach

FOCUS GROUP MEETING 15.2.10
Learning Goal-start to develop our common understanding of thinking.

Today in our Professional Learning session we started discussing different types of thinking.

Jean Edwards believes that Thinking Skills can be divided into three main groups of skills.
*creative thinking
*critical thinking,

and when the two are combined

*creative problem-solving

What are our current understanding of these types of Thinking Skills?
In small groups we spent time researching and discussing what we believe some of the main attributes
are of creative thinking and critical thinking.

Questions arose from this......
What skills are most important for Enner Glynn School students?
How do we support/promote these types of thinking in our classrooms?
What order of importance do you place on these?

CREATIVE THINKING.......coming up with new, novel or original ideas and ways of doing things. Looking at things form different perspective.
